(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 23 - "Important data on tourism for the Christmas holidays but which certainly do not distract attention from the structural problems of a sector that suffered much earlier from Covid and now from the energy crisis. But we know how much the sector is a driving force for the nation's economy is therefore a priority of the government. The ministry will work, as I have been able to highlight on several occasions, to make tourism solid and structured".
Minister Daniela Santanchè told ANSA after the appeal by the president of Confcommercio Carlo Sangalli for tourism to have greater weight in government policies.
"Twenty million Italians traveling between Christmas and New Year's, as well as foreigners, are a good sign for the entire tourism supply chain and for the country, but spending is still low and structural problems remain unresolved. Precisely for this reason tourism must have greater weight in Government policies because if tourism grows, the entire economy grows" said Sangalli.
