If Better Call Saul, Euphoria, For All Mankind, The Handmaid's Tale and Stranger Things are on, it can only be a good series year.

Whenever a year draws to a close, the SERIENJUNKIES.DE® editorial team gets together to select the best series of the year.

This time it's about the supreme discipline, namely the best recurring drama series, which are not opened with their first season.

The broad genre taste of our editors was reflected in the top 10 - from western to sci-fi to fantasy.

There are a few insider tips to be found, but maybe also your own favorite formats for 2022. A series that has been at the top for many years ended up almost unchallenged in first place.

At the same time, it will be a farewell this time, because the finale of this series took place in the summer.

10th place: My Brilliant Friend

Italian coming-of-age drama My Brilliant Friend (aka L'amica geniale or My Brilliant Friend) has been an editors' favorite since the series launched in 2018.

The story of Raffaella Cerullo (Gaia Girace) and Elena Greco (Margherita Mazzucco) still had as much heart in its third season as it once did.

Too bad more fans aren't watching.
