The Maneuver passes to the Senate, race for the green light

After confirming confidence in the government yesterday evening - with 221 votes in favour, 152 against and 4 abstentions - at dawn the Chamber approved the text of the Maneuver, with 197 yes, 129 no and two abstentions.

The Law was then sent to the Senate: the Palazzo Madama calendar provides for the convening of the Assembly on December 27 at 2 pm, for the start of the budget session, with the sending of the text to the commissions.

Times are tight, but sufficient to have the works completed by the end of the year and thus avoid the provisional exercise.

To speed up the process, the Senate will also approve the Maneuver with confidence, therefore without giving parliamentarians the opportunity to further put their hands on the measures.

After the session of the 27th, the calendar foresees that the Assembly of Palazzo Madama will meet on the 28th from 9,

30 and 29 always from 9.30: the latter convocation however contains the specification "if necessary".

The hypothesis, therefore, is that on the 29th Maneuver may have already been fired.

The work of Palazzo Madama on the Budget will complement those of Montecitorio on the anti-Rave decree: another measure whose definitive go-ahead runs on the edge of days, if not hours.

Approved on 13 December in the Senate, it is expected in the Chamber on the 27th: under penalty of forfeiture, it must be converted by 30 December.

The oppositions' criticisms also hinge on the timing of the Maneuver: "All night in the Chamber trying to change the majority's mind on cuts in healthcare, on the end of the women's option and on the unfair measures of the Budget Law - wrote the secretary of the Pd, Enrico Letta - And the first vote of one of the chambers arrives on Christmas Eve. At risk of temporary exercise. Never happened ".

But the majority do not seem to be afraid of missing deadlines: "Reading, he proves to be a 'fatino forgetful' - replied the group leader of FdI in the Chamber, Tommaso Foti - It is not at all true that in fact never before had with the vote on the maneuver on Christmas Eve.

Matteo Renzi posted the video of a nocturnal exchange between the deputy of Iv Luigi Marattin and the presidency of the Chamber, at that moment represented by the blue Giorgio Mulè.

Marattin in the Chamber asked when the deadline for the sub-amendments to the Maneuver was communicated, getting the answer: "This afternoon, by fax to the parliamentary groups".

"By fax? - is Marattin's answer - Are you still using faxes? This is beautiful".

And Renzi, in his post, comments: "That's why they wanted to abolish the Spid. They are returning to the fax. When is the return to telephone tokens?".
