We knew Gur Arad (28) as one of the prominent participants in "Ninja Israel", but soon he will return to the small screen again as part of the program "Hungry for Love", a matchmaking program based on the connection between food and love.
Whenever the participant is hungry, he must go on a date to eat.
"My agent, Eleanor Shahar, told me that there is a new dating program and that they are looking for a celebrity to participate in it," he says.
how did you react
"I told her I'm not famous. When I was on TV it was in the context of 'Ninja,' and I don't connect with the style of matchmaking programs. She convinced me and I went to hear what it was about, and after two days they told me they wanted to meet with both of us. Three days after we met I was informed that I was accepted. I called Eleanor again this time, and told her that I was happy, but that it was not my thing."

How were you convinced?
"I drove them crazy. I met with the creator and the director to dispel all the fears I had. After I really understood what it was about, I saw it as an opportunity that fell to me - and I took it with both hands."
Did you manage to open up in front of the cameras?
"It wasn't easy. In 'Ninja' you get on the track, give a physical performance and move on. Here I had to talk about feelings, about barriers and the family. I have never been treated and I have never been to a psychologist. You can say that I also avoided that, but this program It was my therapy - in front of the cameras. I entered a place that I know how to enter, and I don't know how to get out. I was very afraid, but I jumped into the water. I feel that I have become a better person from the inside."
did you feel comfortable
"In the beginning, the feeling is strange. In general, I don't go out on dates too much, and I don't like formal dates, but prefer light meetings. After a day or two, you don't pay attention to the cameras anymore, and everything becomes better and more authentic, and it just kept getting looser."
How many dates have you gone on?
"In the first week, I only went on first dates with women I didn't know. Then they did a screening for a second date, and from there I continued to get to know each other more deeply. I went on 14 dates, and continued with five."
Sounds intense.
"I went on three first dates in one day. You have to remember who is who, what she said and what you've already told or not told, and it's definitely not easy. Sometimes it was exhausting, but I understood the process and why it's good."
Were there any that caught your attention right away?
"There were several of them there. Luckily, there were stunning girls and it was difficult to choose. The most exciting thing that surprised me was that all the girls who took pictures were free and felt comfortable in front of the camera. It was amazing to experience their openness."
You are a good guy from a good home, very good looking. Do you need the TV to find love?
"There is no lack of people who look good and are successful, who are not successful in the marital aspect. Everyone has their own barriers, history and problems. The fact is that I have not found the one that suits me. In the end, it's not all outward appearance, although it could have made it easier. The point is inner work, faith, and understand the advantages and disadvantages and what we are equal to. That's how we can find our relationship."
