The veteran singer spoke out strongly against the words of the mayor of Tel Aviv, who stated that she does not intend to pay the comedian who decided to get off the stage due to negative reactions to his performance • The Tel Aviv municipality decided not to respond to the statements

Last night (Saturday) Aviv Gefen was enraged in a tweet he uploaded to his Twitter account, after Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai caused a stir when he announced that the municipality would not pay Lassie Cohen for the canceled performance last week.

While Cohen has so far refrained from officially commenting on the storm he is at the center of, the one who was outraged by Huldai's statement was Aviv Gefen, who, as mentioned, tweeted last night against the decision, stinging Huldai: "I understood that Huldai does not want to pay Asi Cohen because he left the show in the middle. Like Tel Aviv looks like, you also left a city in the middle, and we're still paying," Gefen wrote, tagging Huldai.

As you may recall, Cohen was invited last week to be the main act at the Tel Aviv Municipality's Beloved Ceremony, but left the stage after shouts of "shame" were heard from the audience following the jokes about animals that Cohen told in the guise of Shaoli from "Great Country".

Something was even whispered in Cohen's ear by a person who was in the hall, after which Cohen thanked the audience, got off the stage and ended the performance.

The news of the unusual incident spread quickly on social media and caused a public uproar that sparked strong feelings for and against Cohen, who has so far refrained from addressing the affair officially.

The one who did respond to the storm that was created was the mayor of Tel Aviv, Ron Huldai, who stated on Almog Booker's online program that the municipality would not pay Cohen for the performance that was stopped in the middle.

"There were 600 people in the hall, 20 left," Huldai said and added angrily: "What is this privilege to leave the show? "Because you were not comfortable?

Because suddenly you are used to only positive reactions?

I think Shawley did not meet the basic commitment of a person who performs on stage and had to continue despite what they told him," he said firmly and added: "Let it be clear - we will not pay for a performance that was not performed either.

Those who should have provided service on stage and did not provide service on stage, are not paid."

The Tel Aviv Municipality stated that they do not wish to comment on Gefen's remarks.
