At the end of the year, the serial junkies editorial team chose the best new drama series of 2022.

This finally led to the ultimate decision between two very prominent fantasy epics that started this year...

Which new drama series were able to completely surprise and delight in the past year?

The SERIENJUNKIES.DE® editorial team has voted and selected the most worth seeing restarts in 2022 in the one-hour range (here about the best old drama series 2022).

The top spot is probably a bit unexpected for many, since it does not primarily come from the USA - a country for whose series our editors are known to have a weakness.

Thanks to the voting, a final decision could finally be made as to which of the two major fantasy formats was the better this year.

10th place: The Old Man

Jeff Bridges ("The Big Lebowski") as an aging action-horse in a duel with John Lithgow ("Dexter", "The Crown") was a promising series premise right away, and so "The Old Man" (a format of the Sort FX on Hulu, so in this country at Disney + at home) played into the hearts as expected.

The agent's story was sometimes a bit opaque, but the two main actors make up for a lot.
