New Year's Eve is a stressful event for many animals.

The loud fireworks scare some so much that they even run away.

Just like the dog Jazzy, who has had a seven-year odyssey.

First Christmas, then New Year's Eve: While young and old alike are looking forward to welcoming in the new year with bright fireworks, the spectacle is terrifying for many animals.

The loud bangs, the colorful lights and the shrill noises frighten them.

This situation represents a great burden for them, if not even a threat. It is therefore not surprising that some pets want to flee from it and run away from their pet owners.

Bitch flees from New Year's firecrackers - reunion after seven years

Dog Jazzy also ran away from her home in Texas seven years ago because she was afraid of the New Year's firecrackers.

She ends up stranded miles away in Orlando, Florida.

But how did the four-legged friend get there?

That's what her owners have been asking themselves ever since they've been allowed to hold the bitch in their hands again.

By coincidence, Jazzy resurfaced when she was dropped off at an Orange County animal shelter.

Luckily, the cute dog is microchipped, and staff are amazed to find that she belongs to a family in Texas.

She is overjoyed when she learns that Jazzy is still alive.

They've been looking for her for a long time and have never given up hope of finding her, the shelter writes in a moving post on Facebook.

And although the dog has bad arthrosis, her owner does not hesitate, gets on the plane and flies to her.

When the two met, something very touching happened.

It was "amazing to see Jazzy come to life through her owner's voice," says the shelter.

And: "She kept licking his hand and pushing her body as close as possible to him." Apparently, after all this time, the dog immediately remembered her previous owner.
