The track bed didn't stop her either: In Ludwigshafen, a woman drove her car into a tram tunnel.

As the fire brigade announced, they steered the car over a roughly 250-meter-long, gravel track bed into the tunnel system of the underground station Rathaus.

It was initially unclear why.

The woman was unharmed.

However, the fire brigade's response lasted around five hours.

For the salvage work, the vehicle was reportedly lifted with heavy equipment and hoisted onto a lorry belonging to the transport company.

A towing vehicle then pulled the lorry and car out of the tunnel.
