The best thing that happened to "Emily in Paris" is Schiaparelli! - Walla! Fashion

We have a love-hate relationship with the extravagant styling in the Netflix series Emily in Paris. However, the presence of the Schiaparelli fashion house in season 3 is the best thing that happened

Does the third season of "Emily in Paris" live up to the (fashionable) expectations?

To our taste less.

And this is especially noticeable when compared to the rather successful styling of the stars of the series when they are injured on red carpets, and even during the promotional campaign for the new season - this is compared to the over exaggeration (on the verge of kitsch) that is evident in the outfits we see on the background.

But without any doubt, what saves season 3 is the presence of the fashion house "Sciaparelli"!

There is nothing to compare to how they dress her in the series.

Back in 2020, when Netflix's "Emily in Paris" aired for the first time, the obviously unrealistic outfits, some of which even looked more like a costume, drew countless negative fashion reviews, which of course spilled over to social networks as well.

The main argument was that there was nothing and nothing between the extravagant locks and the "French style" that the dressers of the series at the time, super stylist Patricia Field and costume designer Marilyn Pitosi, tried to compare to the looks of the stars of the series.

But Field and Pitosi managed to keep outdoing themselves with exaggerated and crazy clothes (not in a good way) that made us cringe at times, or at the very least raise an eyebrow and wonder - who even dresses like that?

While costume designer Marilyn Pitosi goes solo for Season 3 as a stylist, the first episode begins with Emily Cooper deciding to stay in Paris, and her boss Sylvie choosing to open her own agency.

It seems that the relationship between the two is not only tightening, but that Emily's constant friction with the chic French boss also affects her own style.

Indeed, it is possible to see in the new season glimpses of a slightly more restrained and polished version of Emily, but the clothing choices made for her as the main character in the series are still over the top and north.

A great example of this is the same yellow suit that Emily wears for a walk in the park with her friend Mindy - teamed with platform heels in a matching shade, knee-high socks and a scarf, both printed.

While the head-to-toe yellow may seem like an over-the-top choice, the decision to go with a solid color palette (instead of a color block, for example) marks an evolution in her approach to fashion, albeit a fairly minor one.

Yellow and excessive.

But at least the dresser chose a uniform color palette for Emily

And now, Schiaparelli will come and go.

The veteran Italian fashion house (based in Paris), which has been refining its wonderfully eccentric-surrealist line since 37-year-old Daniel Rosebery, the fashion house's brilliant artistic director, took over the reins in 2019.

The clever use Pitosi makes in the series with pieces of haute couture to dress both Sylvie and Camille makes all the difference in the new season!

We see, for example, Camille, Emily's friend/rival, wearing a cream-colored crop jacket with black leather trim (worth 6,500 euros ladies!) that is decorated with golden ears that serve as buttons, while Sylvie flaunts a black dress with gold chain straps and nipple covers - Ivri Golden bodies on clothes are one of the hallmarks of Schiaparelli, which is characterized by an artistic and bold design language.

The two looks in question are of the type of fine haute couture designs that constitute an overwhelming consensus that it is style, and the highest.

After all, what's good for superstars like Beyonce and Lady Gaga is definitely good for Emily in Paris too!

So while Camille wins the title of the best dressed of the season, see the value of the blazer in lime green by Jacquemus, the boss Sylvie still continues to blow us away - always sexy, elegant and the most chic, when in the new season we also see bright colors that add to her excellent performances.

And Emily?, well.. she's getting better!

Excellent season!

Emily Cooper (played by the 33-year-old actress Lily Collins) is experimenting with her wardrobe this season and in a big way!

As mentioned, her style resonates this time with a slightly more refined vibe, but without giving up all the pan and the excessive, God forbid.

Multicolored printed sweaters, sculptural silhouettes, combinations of prints and textures, metallic knee-high boots and accessories courtesy of Louis Vuitton are all part of her unique and cheerful style evolution.

It's getting better (slightly).

In season 3 Emily goes for a slightly more restrained style, everything is relative of course!
