Moments earlier, the 69-year-old opened fire on several people outside a Kurdish cultural center.
The French pensioner who admitted to having killed three Kurds on Friday in Paris, had first intended "to assassinate migrants" in a city north of the capital, with a large population of foreign origin, driven by "a pathological hatred,” the prosecution said on Sunday.
The suspect had been taken to the psychiatric infirmary of the police headquarters on Saturday, a doctor having declared "that the state of health of the person concerned was not compatible with the measure of police custody".
