2022-12-26T09:43:43.760Z

Noa grew up all her life in a traditional family, and just before she married Liot, she tried to find out her identity.

Noa grew up in an adoptive family.

She always knew this, but never saw the need to ask or inquire about her parents and family.

The Ben-David family was a warm and loving home for her and she never lacked for anything.

But before she started high school, something started nagging at her: she wanted to know where she was born, who her parents were and if she had any other brothers and sisters.

She already knew that she was not born in Israel, but the question marks that seemed meaningless throughout her childhood, slowly turned into bright exclamation marks.

• In the end, everything is won: the groom who lost his brother just before the wedding

• Exciting closing of the circle: the surprise that awaited the two bachelors at the meeting

She didn't have many answers, but something deep inside told her that she would find out everything, sooner or later.

She finished her military service in the Air Force with honors, with a view to industrial and management studies.

There, she met the love of her life - Yotam, and after a short acquaintance they decided to continue their lives side by side, and build their shared home together.

When they were about to get married, Noa discovered that she did not have any information about her origin and her religion.

The family she grew up in, the Ben David family, was traditional and very warm, and they celebrated Shabbat and holidays together with kiddush and feasting.

And right now, just before she starts a family of her own, just before she stands in a white dress with the love of her heart under the canopy, she suddenly had to ask many questions.

"Who am I?".

"Where did I come from?".

"Am I Jewish?".

The Ben-David family joined the task, but the information they had was extremely general and insufficient.

Too many years have passed.

Sadness and worry enveloped Noa even on her birthday, and although she was surrounded by all the people who loved her, the joy was not complete.

She did not imagine that her application to the "Roots" center of the Zahar organization, which helps in proving Judaism, would bring her to the place she dreams of.

With the help of the Rabbinical Court, her biological mother was located, and Noa was given a small note with an address and a phone number on it: "These are the details of your biological mother, we will leave it up to you to decide how you want to know her," she was told by the center.

She couldn't call, the excitement was too much for her.

And she decided to just come and knock on the door of her house, no matter what.

When he got to the door, Noa saw hanging balloons, and by the amount of air left in them, she realized that they had been hanging there for several days.

She decided to ignore them, and knocked on the door with her heart pounding.

She heard a creak and the door opened in front of her.

On the other side stood a woman, who looked at her for several minutes with wide eyes and without words, and only then managed to ask hesitantly: "Marin'la, is that you?! Noa stood in front of her speechless, and she continued. "I had a feeling this year that we were closer." saying.

"Mom, is that you? What are you talking about? What feeling and who is Marina?", she asked.

Both hugged each other excitedly, and their shouts of joy could be heard throughout the building.

Ima held her hand and brought her into the house, as Noa's heart continued to beat rapidly.

She wanted to ask and hear everything, and as much as possible.

"You are Marina," her mother told her, "my Marina. When you were born I knew right away. I wanted so much to look for you all these years. If only you knew. Sit down for a moment my Marina, I'll make you tea with cake and we'll talk about everything."

After a few moments she returned with a chocolate cake and steaming green tea, which filled the space with a sweet and good smell.

"Do you see the missing piece in the cake? I already celebrated alone, do you understand?".

Noa could not understand what it was about.

"Every year I make a cake on your birthday, decorate the house inside and out, and pray to God to watch over you and come back and reunite us," she told her.

At this point, Noa could no longer hold back the tears.
