After a fatal car accident with a suspected hit-and-run in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a driver turned herself in to the police.
As the police in Malchin announced, the 21-year-old reported to the Neubrandenburg police station on Monday evening.
She therefore stated that she was involved in the accident late in the evening of Christmas Day in Malchin.
According to the police, severe damage and traces on the woman's car match the accident.
A 23-year-old pedestrian died in the collision.
Passers-by found the woman's body on the side of the road the next morning.
She had apparently been left at the scene of the accident after the collision.
The driver heard a bang on the vehicle
According to the police, the suspected driver of the accident said that she was driving in the direction of Rostock and noticed a bang on her vehicle in Malchin.
However, she did not link this to an accident.
She only became aware of the accident through media reports.
The woman's car was secured.
The investigations are ongoing.
