Sparkasse customers can look forward to it.
Your bank card now offers a feature to better protect your account.
It starts under the term "Card Control".
Munich/Cologne – Anyone who has a Sparkasse giro or credit card can now protect their account better with the “Card Control” function.
The tool is available to customers in the financial institution's app, in the "Mobile Payment" app and in Sparkasse's online banking.
Anyone who activates the function can better monitor the activities on their account and thus protect them better.
With Card Control you can independently control the possible uses of your haptic and digital cards.
For extra security and control.

Customers can now activate and deactivate the following options for Sparkasse checking and credit cards:
Pay in shops directly on site
Pay online
Pay abroad
and withdrawing cash from ATMs
"Card Control" can be easily switched on and off - card misuse can now be detected more quickly
The customer thus determines for which use the Sparkasse card is to be activated or blocked.
So if you don't know where your wallet is, you can block the card for others in no time with the app or in online banking.
And if you want to monitor all of your account transactions, you can have every debit sent to your cell phone as a notification.
If you pay with the card in a shop, for example, this will be visible on your smartphone shortly afterwards.
In this way, at least card misuse can be detected more quickly.
Sparkasse customers can find the new functions in the card management service center.
However, the new function has not yet been released for everyone, reports the online portal
Inside-Digital
.
The reason for this is that each savings bank decides for itself when the "Card Control" function will be activated for customers.
It could even be that a Sparkasse does not make the feature accessible at all.
In any case, the function is available to customers at the Kreissparkasse Köln, as an enthusiastic user immediately reported on Twitter.

There is still no information on the Internet as to whether the new tool will be well received by customers.
Because too many account notifications that end up on the cell phone through "Card Control" could annoy users after a certain time.
Especially when it comes to small amounts of money.

No matter which bank account model is best suited for customers, one thing still applies: the supply of cash is important for customers.
And if you don't live in the city, you often have to look for a suitable ATM.
And since the savings banks with and 23,000 machines are still clearly ahead in Germany.
