This means that festivals during this period can only be celebrated at room volume.

Contrary to widespread claims, the legal night's rest also applies on New Year's Eve, although here the volume level usually only really shoots up around midnight.
Neighbors can also complain to the police at the turn of the year if the party next door robs them of their sleep.

Because the night's rest is only valid if it is as quiet as a mouse in your own apartment.
And that's almost impossible to do at midnight on New Year's Eve.
When the firecrackers are set off outside on the streets and people are hugging each other screaming, the festival is unlikely to be the biggest noise nuisance among the neighbors.
Nevertheless, party people who want to celebrate New Year's Eve with their loved ones at home in the apartment should include the night's rest in their party planning.
This applies not only in your own four walls, but also in the stairwell or other common rooms.
Despite well-insulated walls, the noise can very quickly end up with the neighbors and cause trouble there.

With these precautions, nothing stands in the way of the New Year's Eve party at home
With a few precautions and the appropriate instructions to the guests, the exuberant New Year's Eve party at home in your own apartment can easily go into the early hours of the morning despite a good night's sleep.
For example, care should be taken to ensure that windows and balcony doors remain closed most of the time - this also ensures that fireworks flying around do not end up indoors.
To air out, the music is then simply turned down briefly.
Such breaks also provide space for quieter activities such as lead pouring or a tarot reading for the coming year.
At private dance events, guests should remove their shoes to reduce noise.
Carpets ensure cosiness and also dampen the noise for the surrounding apartments.

at a later hour, this can then be turned down further and further.
At the start of the party, the party community can be briefly informed that room volume applies during smoking breaks on the balcony or when walking through the stairwell, or that there should be complete silence.
To be on the safe side, it is also advisable to let your neighbors know a few days before the turn of the year that there will be a party on New Year's Eve.
In this way, they can prepare themselves accordingly and, if necessary, move to another room to sleep or provide hearing protection.
Of course, the easiest way is to simply invite the surrounding tenants to the party!
Because if you celebrate yourself, you will hardly complain about the noise level.
