Although "Wednesday", Netflix's new and record-breaking hit series has yet to be officially renewed for a second season, it is only a matter of time before the announcement is made - most likely after the end of the calendar year celebrations.
In fact, the creators of the Addams Family spinoff-type project, Al Go and Miles Millar, are so confident that they will continue with "Wednesday" for another season that they even gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter, and told what they think will happen in it.
In one sentence: the new season will focus on the relationship between Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and her friend Enid (Emma Myers), and Wednesday's relationship with her mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones).

And in more than one sentence (caution - spoilers for those who haven't watched the entire first season): "We want to explore, and maybe complicate, all these relationships. The school closed when they left, and that gives us a lot of options for the second season," says Go.
"For us, the series deals quite a bit with friendships between women, with Wednesday and Enid being at the center of this storyline. The fact that viewers connected to their relationship makes us very happy. That's why we want to find out what will happen after Wednesday received a hug, because that hug was a very significant thing for her in the first season." , added the creator, explaining that "it will also be interesting to check the relationship between Wednesday and her mother, Morticia, now that Morticia knows about the powers. How will their relationship develop?".

Another question that came up in the interview, and it is assumed that many viewers will be happy to receive an answer to it, is whether Wednesday and Enid will find themselves in a romantic relationship.
Millar does not rule out this intriguing possibility, but makes it clear that any plot development must be organic.
"We have a road map, and we want this map to have roads that will take the viewers in unexpected directions. We are open to everything and are interested in exploring their friendships from every direction, but we try to avoid the viewers causing us to deviate from the course."

As of today, "Wednesday" is only the third series in the history of Netflix that crossed the mark of one billion (!) viewing hours in the first 28 days of its launch.
In fact, only the first season of "The Squid Game" and the fourth season of "Stranger Things" surpassed that mark, with 1.65 billion and 1.35 billion hours watched respectively.
