The American Supreme Court maintains in force the so-called 'title 42', the emergency health measure introduced by Donald Trump in the name of the fight against Covid to allow the American government to expel asylum-seeking migrants who illegally cross the border without the possibility of appeal Mexico.

The Supreme Court has thus accepted the request of the republican states to keep 'title 42' in force and a hearing to hear their reasons has been scheduled for February.

This means that the restrictions will remain in place for at least months, at least until March or April.

The application of 'title 42' was due to expire on December 28 and the Biden administration was preparing for the possibility of an end to the restrictions.
