Callmobile already discontinued its new customer business in 2021.
Now it's the turn of existing customers - and they'll soon have to look for a new mobile phone provider.
Rendsburg - The mobile phone provider Callmobile is about to go out.
The brand, which belongs to freenet AG, already discontinued its new customer business last year.
But now it's the turn of existing customers.
Anyone who is not looking for a new mobile phone contract will be without a smartphone provider from July 2023 - because then Callmobile will stop operating.

The freenet subsidiary Callmobile is expected to cease operations on July 1, 2023.

and Stiftung Warentest report.
Accordingly, all contracts of existing customers will be terminated up to this point.
Those affected must therefore inevitably look for a new mobile phone provider.
If it were up to freenet, the choice would obviously be clear: according to Stiftung Warentest, the company is trying to put existing customers in contact with Klarmobil, which also belongs to Freenet Aktiengesellschaft.
According to the cell phone discounter, every affected customer will receive an offer that usually offers more attractive conditions than Callmobile.
“If the customer actively chooses one of these offers, the changeover takes place within three weeks after approval.
The phone number will then be automatically transferred to the new contract at no additional cost,” the company told the
Teltarif
portal .
However, Stiftung Warentest advises to check the offer carefully, for example via various comparison portals.

For existing customers, the end of Callmobile also means that they have a special right of termination.
Mobile phone users are also entitled to portability of their number to another provider free of charge.
Here, too, it is worth comparing different offers, because some other providers reward new customers with an exchange credit if they take their old phone number with them.
"You can take your phone number with you up to four months before and 90 days after termination," Callmobile said on the website.

Stiftung Warentest recommends that anyone who still has prepaid credit with Callmobile can have it paid out.
This can be done by phone on 040/34 8585 310 (Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
However, users have spoken out and criticized the fact that there is apparently no option to select the subject of "payment" when calling the Callmobile number.
Another user complained that the Callmobile hotline was rarely available.

However, the Freenet group itself has big goals.
The company wants to increase its operating profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to at least 520 million euros by 2025, with average annual growth of more than four percent.
According to its own information, Freenet has a subscription customer base of 8.9 million people and is the “largest network-independent mobile communications provider in Germany”.
According to
Teltarif
, the end of Callmobile has "technical reasons" on the part of the group, the number of customers for this brand has been declining for years.
