Whether it was sent too quickly or simply mistyped, some messages you just want to take back - now WhatsApp is changing its delete function.
Kassel – Sometimes you just click send too quickly and then, quite by mistake, you sent a message that you didn't mean to send.
Or you forward an image to the wrong group.
Because this can happen quickly, WhatsApp has long had the option of deleting messages after they have been sent.
But so far the whole thing had a small catch, there were two ways to delete the message.
You could either delete the message completely or just for yourself. And if you accidentally click on Send, you will occasionally make a mistake when deleting it.
Then the message still ends up with the recipient.
Exactly for this situation there is now a new function for deleting messages on Whatsapp.
Changed function on Whatsapp: Accidentally deleted a message?
In the future it should be possible to correct the deletion of messages on Whatsapp if you accidentally deleted a message for yourself instead of for the others.
The function should now be available to all users with the latest Whatsapp version, reports

.
As early as 2017, Whatsapp introduced the function of being able to delete messages for the recipient and in groups.
Originally it was limited to a few minutes, but it is being extended more and more.
Users have less time to correct an accidentally deleted message.
The new feature only applies for five seconds after deleting a message.
Whatsapp established a similar delete function last year with messages that delete themselves after 24 hours.

Security gaps have been identified several times in Whatsapp in the past.
The company is trying to close these to secure customer data.
For example, the app has been offering end-to-end encryption to protect data on Whatsapp for two years.
This should ensure that only people can read messages if they are the sender or recipient.
As a further measure, Whatsapp recently developed a function that should be activated for more data protection.
In addition, there are also some tips that you can use for more security on Whatsapp.
