Deutsche Post is currently struggling with many problems.

According to a media report, the Ministry of Economic Affairs is therefore pushing ahead with reforms.

According to the Federal Network Agency, there have never been so many complaints about Deutsche Post - even though it has to deliver fewer and fewer letters.

Customers complain about letters arriving late or not at all, about rising prices and poor service.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs is therefore considering delivering letters and parcels to packing stations,

Der Spiegel

reported .

This is one of several measures to eliminate the chaotic situation in letter delivery.

This emerges from an internal paper that serves as the basis for an amendment to the postal law that is to be presented next year, reports fr.de.

Deutsche Post: Ministry of Economics is currently working on an amendment to the postal law

In the coalition agreement, the traffic light coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP agreed to amend the postal law.

The Ministry of Economics is currently working on the postal law reform, the ministry said at the request of

fr.de

from IPPEN.MEDIA.

However, it is currently not possible to name any content of the change in the law - only this much: There are "no papers in the Ministry of Economics that provide for the delivery of letters to packing stations, as is sometimes reported".

In the future, customers should also be able to complain to a common point about problems with letter or parcel delivery.

The Federal Network Agency should serve “as a central point of contact” and “strengthen the resilience of the postal networks”, according to the

Spiegel

in the paper.

There has been a change at Deutsche Post since October: it applies to millions of customers.

This year, the Federal Network Agency has already counted more than 37,000 complaints about letter and parcel services, more than twice as many as in the previous year, the Bonn authority said at the request of the

German Press Agency (dpa)

.

At the same time, according to a press release, the Post expects a record profit of around 8.4 billion euros for this year, mainly due to DHL's parcel business.
