Cheers, you honestly earned it (Photo: Giphy)

It is difficult to exaggerate the description of the pleasure inherent in tasting the traditional bubbly, in preparation for the New Year's parties.

It's not really cold though and for a New Year's Eve atmosphere you have to imagine a little, still, bubbles are good, in any weather.

For all of my father's wine

series, I have tasted countless sparkling wines on the occasion of the current seria.

The list gathered the best, from various categories, for drinkers of all types - beginners to experienced, and of course for every pocket.

Here are the best unpretentious base wines;

Nice plays from France and Spain in the category "Excess from a hundred";

Two base champagnes and a great "Vobra" in the "Over 200" category and a hearty Psagot air in the top category, which includes two local representatives (Golan Ramat Winery and Dalton) and other great champagnes, for those who want and can.

There's no way you'll finish this tasting without scoring a bottle or two suited to taste and budget.

Happy new year!

modest and basic (over 60)

Perlino, Asti (NIS 50)

sweet sparkling, based on Canelli Muscat, from Asti in Piedmont, Italy.

Very light, aperitif and in the same breath can also accompany desserts.

Mionotto, Prosecco, Brut DOC (NIS 55)

Fruity and honey Prosecco that is balanced with not bad acidity at all.

A wine that is usually sipped as an aperitivo, but will also do the job at a budget-conscious New Year's party.

Villerneau, Brut, Reserva Rosa (NIS 55)

Basic and organic pink cava, with a bottle designed from a Gaudi work, very little pretentious but with surprising dryness and richness factors relative to the modest pricing.

Primo V, prosecco rosé (NIS 59)

pink prosecco, delicate, with a light and pleasant sweetness and balancing acidity, also delicate.

A cute wine of the kind that Bonos also makes kosher.

For the benefit of the relevant population from among those celebrating the new civil year.

Ramat Golan, Gamla, Brut NV (NIS 75)

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in equal doses, with considerable fruity richness, in the style of Ramah Winery's testimony, and yet: a very worthy product without a lot of money. The workhorse of the local sparkling winemakers.

Paul Maas, Cremo de Limo Brut (NIS 79)

The "Cremo" category is one of the most beloved in the world of sparkling wines. At their best, "Cremo" wines provide a lot of quality at a third and less than the prices of banal champagnes. The current "Cremo", from the excellent Paul Mas Winery from Languedoc in the south of France, has all the good qualities of a quality sparkling wine. It is based on 60% Chardonnay and the rest Chenin Blanc and Moissan Blanc. The vinification is in the traditional method (similar to Champagne wines), it stays for a year on the lees and its complexity surprises every time. Great fruit, sharp acidity, delicate bubbles, honey, flowers and sweetness Light

, pleasant.

Raventos, E Blanc, Blanc de Blanc 2020 (NIS 90)

Very dry white sparkling from a great winery in Pendes, Spain.

Based on Peralda, McBaugh and Charles Lowe.

Second fermentation in the bottle and 18 months residence as a blend.

Great body, sharp acidity, impressive dryness and a lot of cleanliness on the palate.

A bomb of wine and a bomb of value for money.

Food d'Aragon, Vebre Brut NV (NIS 90)

bubbles from a family winery from the Loire Valley, France, based on a Chenin Balen from Vebre.

The "Shenan" grapes bring a unique character to the sparkling wine and the current wine reveals ripe white fruit, a touch of yeast, refinement, uniqueness and a considerable amount of value for money.

Langlois Chateau, Cremo de Loire Brut Rosé NV (NIS 99)

"Cremo" rosé based on Cabernet Franc from the excellent Langlois Chateau winery in the Loire.

A wine created using the traditional method (second fermentation in the bottle) and spent 18 months on the lees.

Fruit and lightness of a typical rosé, refinement and wonderful dryness of a really high quality sparkling wine.

A great gastronomic factor.

Dry rosé for those in the know.

Wonderful value for money.

Mark Bardiff, Vavera Reserve Priva, Brut Extreme (NIS 149)

100% Chenin Blanc from Vavera, Loire, France.

Additional 10% reserve wines.

30 months of maturation in the bottle in the cellars of the winery.

A very spicy bubbly, full of character, excellent as an aperitif or as a starter for a particularly elaborate meal.

Another excellent bubbly from the "maybe not champagne but just as good for less money" genre.

One of the best tasting.

Bartel, Brut Rosé (NIS 195)

The first champagne to be covered here comes from the 30 dunam vineyard department in Côte de Bar, the southernmost sub-region of Champagne.

60% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Blanc and Pinot Meunier.

Four years on the lees, pink, abundant with fresh red fruit and relatively refined bubbles.

A sympathetic base version for champagne that doesn't break the bank.

Alexander Bona, Blanc de Blanc NV (NIS 195)

"Blanc de Noir" is a white ben Adom in the language of the Israeli Academy - a white wine produced from grapes that are usually used for red wines.

Here there is 100% "reserve" level pinot noir wine.

Richness, spice and power.

A lot of qualities that appeal relatively to the restrained pricing in the context of the genre.

Dalton, Brut NV (NIS 220)

the tall and invested sparkling of Dalton Winery based on pinot gris grapes from the Galilee, mostly from the 2017 vintage plus a little from the 2016 vintage. The vinification is done in the traditional method and the result is clearly elegant.

Green fruit with a lot of presence, richness not too compressed, nutty, with a gentle bubble and a long finish.

This is a special edition of 1,000 bottles that is Dalton's statement of intent in the sparkling field.

Decent wine.

Roinart, Brut NV (NIS 259)

Roinart is the first champagne house in France, which is very popular.

The current champagne is based on 45% pinot noir, 40% chardonnay and the rest pinot monnier, from different vintages, which together went through 3 years aging in the bottle.

White fruit, nuttiness and an unequivocal accessibility promoter.

Champagne that will speak to everyone.

The mainstream heart of the genre.

Golan Heights, Jordan, Blanc de Blanc 2016 (NIS 280)

The Golan Heights Winery is the unequivocal winner in the local wine industry when it comes to sparkling wines.

The current wine is based on 100% Chardonnay from the northern plateau.

Second fermentation in the bottle.

The disgorging phase began after five years of aging on the yeast.

Rich fruit, toasted bread, very impressive cleanliness and elegance.

Sparkling at an international level, very handsome.

Moet and Chando, Grand Vintage Extra Brut 2013 (NIS 299)

41% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir and 21% Pinot Monnier.

Seven years aging on the yeast.

Excellent dryness, richness, volume, baked white fruit, brioche, great acidity, with an extremely fine bubble.

There is no mistaking the qualities of a truly serious champagne from the champagne house that is considered one of the most classic.

Clique hook, Extra Brut Extra Old 3 (NIS 319)

NIS 319 is a lot of money, but this champagne is undoubtedly one of the better options, if you're into it.

Wines from eight different vintages spanning between 1990 and 2014, from which the best quality liquids were selected, from the initial pressing.

Double aging: two years in large tanks and three more in the bottle.

Complex, multi-nuanced, deep, refined, wonderfully dry and really great.

For experienced drinkers.

Bolinger, Rosa Brut NV (NIS 405)

"Varoda" is truly exceptional in that 85% of its grapes come from Premium Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, from two vineyards in the village of Varaznai.

Over three years of refinement in a bottle stunning aromas of champagne-style pinot noir, really elegant, dry, precise and sharp.

Aviation Style and more.
