"The trend is still in its infancy," explains interior designer Karen Reuvani, from Reuvani Interior Architects, "but in light of the fact that most young people cannot afford to buy an apartment, certainly not in Tel Aviv, renting is the only option they have. An example of this type of project can be found in one of the regenerating neighborhoods in south Tel Aviv, in a project by Elder Investments.

It is a building with dozens of housing units, which mostly includes small apartments measuring 50 square meters, in an area that is located within walking distance of strategic locations in Tel Aviv. The building was designed by "Toam Architecture", when from the beginning the planning and marketing were directed in favor of the rental market.

As someone who is responsible for the design of public spaces of residential projects, Reuveni explains that the treatment of small apartments for the benefit of the rental market is different.

"Different from projects for purchase, in which the developer starts from the premise that each buyer will design and plan the apartment according to his personal needs, in a project designed for rent, the goal of the developer is to attract the target audience, who are young people. These days Reuvani is designing another project on the same street, by the same developer, also for rent only.

According to her, "It was not for nothing that the developer chose a developing Tel Aviv neighborhood, as finding land in the center of Tel Aviv is no small matter. Today, I witness more and more similar initiatives in the rental market, in the neighborhoods of Florentin, Neve Shanan, Levontin, and other developing neighborhoods in Tel Aviv. I estimate that more and more entrepreneurs will enter the field, given the huge demand."
