“Buy yourself a life”: Greta Thunberg’s piquant reply to a masculinist influencer

2022-12-29T16:27:01.501Z

Former British-American kickboxer Andrew Tate lashed out at the Swedish activist in a Twitter post, taunting her with her polluting cars. Very badly took him, the response of the ecologist set fire to the powder.

Victory by KO against the kickboxer.

Andrew Tate, a 36-year-old former Anglo-American kickboxing champion, had fun provoking young activist Greta Thunberg.

Back on Twitter after being banned because of publications deemed toxic, the one who describes himself as a "success coach" arrested this Wednesday, December 27, the 19-year-old activist on the social network, asking her for her e-mail address in order to to be able to send him a "complete list of (his) collection of cars with their respective enormous emissions".

Greta Thunberg's response, scathing, did not drag.

"Tweet of the Year"

Without frills or detour, the activist responded the same day with the following message: “Of course, enlighten me.

Send me an e-mail at smalldickenergy@getalife.com (énergiedepetiteb**e@achetetoiunevie.com)”.

The very flowery expression "

small dick energy

" is opposed to another very popular one called "big dick energy".

The latter refers to a person with great self-confidence without being self-sufficient.

To defend himself, the influencer Andrew Tate tries a final pirouette.

“How dare you?” he tweeted, using the words used by Greta Thunberg during an incisive speech at the UN climate summit in 2019.

Assessment of this verbal contest: advantage to the activist, with 2.3 million likes for her scathing response, against only 176,600 for Andrew Tate's message.

"It's winter in Sweden, but it's apparently still warm enough for Greta to inflict such a burn!", Comments a user.

“Greta made a late entry into the race for tweet of the year,” adds another.

A dangerous aura

Nicknamed "the king of toxic masculinity", the former sportsman is not unanimous on social networks.

Public support for Donald Trump and conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, Andrew Tate has been making controversial statements since his participation (and his ousting) from the reality show “Big Brother” in 2016. Driving a car, clutching a gun to fire or a cigar, the influencer speaks face-to-face with men, advising them to “hit and choke women, ransack their property and stop them from going out,” reports

The Guardian

.

Ousted from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube because of his hateful and misogynistic speech, Andrew Tate recently benefited from an amnesty on Twitter, offered by its sulphurous leader Elon Musk.

However, his notoriety continued to skyrocket.

Between July 10 and July 23, 2022, the masculinist coach was among the top Google searches, ahead of Kim Kardashian or Donald Trump.

Andrew Tate is pleased to push the controversy to its climax, but at what cost?

Le Monde

cites an example of the first damage.

“Although banned from the main social networks, the Anglo-American influencer remains omnipresent on the Internet, notes our colleague Constance Vilanova.

Fan accounts and copies multiply, and behind the punchlines looms a frightening rape culture.

To the point that some teachers and associations are concerned about the potential impact of these publications on middle and high school students.
