(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 29 - Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reported that this morning's heavy Russian attack caused damage to electricity production plants and the country's energy grid despite the excellent work of the air defense.

The minister explained that the energy situation is particularly difficult in the districts of Kiev and Odessa, as well as in western Ukraine.
Earlier the Dtek power company said that in Odessa in the Dnipropetrovsk region they were forced to cut off electricity.
