Revealed: This is what the final episode of "Anatomy" starring Dr. Gray will look like | Israel Hayom

Meredith Gray will remain to narrate the episodes, but as recently published, her character will hardly appear in the series anymore.

Good news for "Grey's Anatomy" fans:

Doctor Meredith Gray has not yet signed the travel form at the "Grey-Sloan" hospital and has not yet left the series, at least not as her main character.

Bad news for "Grey's Anatomy" fans:

That departure will happen soon.

• The "Grey's Anatomy" star posted an emotional farewell post

The last appearance for now of Ellen Pompeo as the revered super surgeon will be in the seventh episode of the 19th season of "Anatomy", which will be broadcast in the United States on February 23 - after the series returns to the screens at the end of a hiatus of more than three months.

Yesterday (Wednesday) the first details were revealed about the defining episode, called I'll Follow The Sun and directed by Debbie Allen (who plays Catherine Ivory Fox in the series, and is also one of its main producers).

According to the synopsis, while most of the hospital staff say goodbye to Meredith and wish her well in Boston, there is one particular doctor who is particularly unhappy with the move.

This is of course Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman), Meredith's partner for the last two seasons, and their relationship is expected to run aground.

More in the episode: Maggie prepares to perform a groundbreaking operation - a partial heart transplant - and the new interns compete for the right to assist her in the operation.

Also, in the first photo from the episode published exclusively on the TV Line website, you can see Meredith talking to the young intern Simone (Alexis Floyd).

And yes, they both seem to be shedding a tear.

And for the million dollar question: will this really be the last time we see Meredith Gray on our TV screens?

In two words: no chance.

The character is expected to appear in several more episodes of "The Anatomy" - most likely in the last episode of the current season that will be broadcast in May, and if and when the series is renewed for season 20, we will not be surprised if she shines occasionally in the next season as well.

On top of that, we will still hear Meredith's voice in the opening and closing narration sections of each episode, so the separation from her is only partial.

"You have to do something new"

As you remember, Ellen Pompeo announced last summer her decision to reduce her presence in "Grey's Anatomy", after having starred in more than 400 episodes since the series launched in 2005.

About two weeks ago, when she was a guest on Drew Barrymore's television show, Pompeo explained her choice and told the host, "Listen, I'm already 53 years old and my brain is like a scrambled omelet. I have to do something new. 19 years is longer than people raise their children at home. They send The kids go to college at the age of 18, so it's like I'm going to college now."

The "new thing" to which the star refers is a mini-series that will be broadcast on the Hulu streaming service (and in Israel on Disney Plus), and will deal with a couple who adopt an eight-year-old girl, who apparently suffers from a genetic defect, but they soon discover that the same girl is, well, not a girl for a long time. .
