The maturity exam will be like before the pandemic

.

Interviewed by the Press, the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, explains that it is the 'most reasonable' solution.

In the oral exam, he announces a circular on how the interdisciplinary interview will be carried out: 'he must enhance skills and verify the ability to make connections'.

The more trained teachers must be paid more, he reflects, and on the pandemic he says that it has left behind with more bullying and less socialization.

On occupations 'the principle that whoever breaks, pays' applies: a pact of legality that makes families, or students if they are adults, responsible.

The 2017 law that regulates the Maturity exam "is the law in force. Before deciding, I consulted experts and insiders. In the end, it seemed the most reasonable solution. If it should work badly, we will intervene, but the idea I find that the maturity level is changed just to put a stamp inappropriate ", says

the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara

announcing the return to the exam as it was before the pandemic.

"The interdisciplinary interview - he continues - must enhance the students' skills and verify their ability to make connections between the subjects. There must not be an interrogation in Italian, Greek or mathematics. I will send a circular on this which will clarify exactly how the interview will take place".

Does the return to the pre-Covid exam, he is asked, mean that the emergency is over?

"It's over at least for high school. Then it's obvious that it has left some aftermath. The increase in bullying, a bewilderment of many young people who find themselves more in crisis in facing the school path. I am referring to the increasingly accentuated lack of socialization ".

Regarding the theme of occupations: "For me, the principle that whoever breaks it, pays applies

. If there is damage, these damages must first of all be prosecuted civilly. We need a pact of legality that makes families responsible - or students if they are adults - for the damage done".

With regard to teachers instead, "by paying more for more trained teachers and with particularly delicate responsibilities such as tutor teachers, we intend to enhance the merit of those who take on particular responsibilities".
