Strange scenes took place in some Aldi branches on Thursday.

An offer caused chaotic conditions and long queues.

London – There are sometimes chaotic scenes that took place in some Aldi branches in Great Britain from Thursday (December 29).

Images of long queues in front of the shops can be seen on social media.

Videos show crowds in the aisles of the discounter.

The reason for the rush: Aldi sold a drink that was developed by two YouTube stars.

"Absolute chaos": Special Aldi offer causes a big rush

It is the energy drink "Prime" from Logan Paul and KSI.

Originally, the influencers were considered competitors, but they are now business partners and promote their drink together.

The two YouTubers together have around 40 million subscribers - and are particularly popular with young people.

This is also clear from the pictures from the British Aldi branches.

Several videos on Twitter show how children and young people in particular push themselves through the aisles trying to get one of the bottles.

Young people reportedly even jumped into the chest of bottles at a shop in Essex in search of the coveted merchandise.

"Absolute chaos," wrote a Twitter user to his video.

However, it can be seen that older people were also quite interested in the drink.

Long queues in front of the Aldi branches: "Every customer bought Prime"

"Every customer at Aldi has bought Prime," wrote a user on another video that showed a cash register tape exclusively with the coveted bottles.

Aldi had announced the day before that it would sell the bottles for £1.99 each from Thursday.

The offer is limited.

Each customer may only buy one bottle of each of the three available varieties.

There are a total of six different types of energy drinks.

In the online shop of "Prime" everything was sold out on Friday.

After Aldi announced the offer, hundreds of people inquired online about branches and opening times.

According to reports, long queues formed in front of some shops on the day of the offer.

Some could hardly believe the sight.

"Sorry, but the world could actually end in this decade," wrote one Twitter user.

"These people are queuing outside an Aldi at 5am to get a £2 bottle of 'Prime'."

In the rush, many consumers went away empty-handed.

Aldi apologized to its customers for this, but emphasized that the demand was very high.

Meanwhile, some on the Internet are trying to seize the moment.

Individual bottles are sometimes offered at horrendously high prices.
