A man was seriously injured after a home-made firecracker detonated in Baden-Württemberg.
The man's 23-year-old son had made an explosive device in his parents' house from legal fireworks and additives from the Internet and stored it on a workbench in the basement, the police said.
When the father was doing flex work in the room in the Black Forest town of Schonach on Friday evening, there was a detonation.
Windows and door frames were torn from their anchorage.
The father was taken to a hospital with severe burns.
The son must expect to be charged with violating the Explosives Act.
