An Edeka customer experienced a disgusting disappointment with an organic orange juice.

Munich – Anyone who goes shopping in a supermarket or discounter is often spoiled for choice.

The number of different products on the shelves of Aldi, Lidl, Edeka, Kaufland, Rewe and others is large.

Fresh groceries, drinks or drugstore items - you can actually find everything you need every day.

However, there are always cases where supermarket customers are disappointed after buying a product.

A Munich Edeka customer recently found an uninvited guest in his salad.

And a pack of vegan whipped cream also held a nasty surprise for a Kaufland customer.

An Edeka customer has now found that the freshness of some supermarket products is not always as desired.

He bought an orange juice from Edeka's own organic brand in a branch of the supermarket chain.

But instead of a healthy, refreshing juice, he probably felt nauseous after opening the pack.

The Edeka customer published several pictures of the juice pack on Facebook.

Although the best-before date was June 10, 2023, a furry, gray thing was poking out of the opening of the orange juice carton – mold had probably formed.

"Freshly opened.

Delicious,” commented the Edeka customer ironically.

Another Facebook user, meanwhile, had little use for the writer's anger, commenting on his complaint: "So?

Complain about it on the spot.” A rather dubious suggestion.

Because almost no customer will probably still open the Tetrapaks they have just bought in the supermarket and subject them to a freshness test.

Especially since the shelf life of the opened items could suffer.

Edeka has also responded to her customer's disgusting find.

"Thanks for your feedback.

We are happy to pass this on to our colleagues in customer service," wrote an employee of Edeka's social media team.

However, it is no longer possible to determine whether the branch is to be blamed at all or whether an error at the production site of the juice led to its mold formation.

If something is wrong with a supermarket product, it is sometimes withdrawn from sale altogether.
