Put the odds on your side not to fall asleep before midnight and ignite the dance floor all night long. A few tips to keep going.

Essential oils throughout the day

Natural remedies can boost the body.

For a real boost at the start of the evening, two essential oils: peppermint and cinnamon bark.

“In the morning, at noon and at the start of the evening, two drops of the first and one drop of the second are poured on sugar or in a spoonful of honey.

The two complement each other, they stimulate both physically and mentally, without forcing the body,” says pharmacist Alexandra Chopard, author of

No longer being tired, it's smart

Be careful, essential oils are contraindicated in pregnant women and children under 6 years old.

Light and hot lunch

Our energy partly depends on what we put on our plate.

So on D-Day, we avoid sugar.

If at the time, it boosts by causing a peak in blood sugar, it mainly causes a few hours later, hypoglycemia, in other words a drop in diet.

To be banned for lunch and snack: white bread, pastries, chocolate bars, industrial fruit juices and sodas.

“At lunch, we will prefer wholemeal bread or seeds.

At snack time, we opt for oilseeds such as almonds or Brazil nuts, dried fruits (prunes, apricots), rich in magnesium and nutrients.

You can also choose fruits, for their vitamins and their fibers which slow down the absorption of sugar by the body, then chocolate, but only two squares of black” advises the professional.

Note

: we avoid a cold lunch, "the body must make more effort to bring food to the right temperature, which tires the body" informs the pharmacist.

Energizing herbal teas

Originally from South America, mate (2) can replace tea and coffee thanks to the mateine it contains, which is softer and better assimilated by the body than caffeine.

Rich in vitamins and minerals (magnesium, iron, calcium), mate tea gives a boost and helps fight against stress.

In infusion, 10 to 15g of leaves for a liter of water, between 2 to 4 cups per day.

Be warned, the taste is bitter.

Attention, pregnant women, people suffering from palpitations and hypertension should not consume it.

Always seek the advice of your doctor.

Burdock, called "the friend of mankind" by Greek doctors, contains an essential oil, tannins, B vitamins and multiple minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron) which make it a purifying and toning plant.

Put 40g of fresh burdock roots in a liter of cold water, heat and boil for 10 minutes.

Infuse for 5 minutes then filter.

Drink 2 to 3 cups a day.

A 20 minute nap

Nothing like a real

station wagon

to recharge the batteries.

A nap of 20 minutes maximum is ideal, either after lunch if it is possible to isolate yourself from noise and others, or when returning home in the evening before camping your light suit.

“Sleeping 20 minutes, not one more, will compensate for an immediate lack of sleep and will limit unexpected falling asleep,” confirms Alexandra Chopard.

For those who work: walk home from work

To be able to swing all night long, we move!

Physical activity indeed increases our heart rate and releases two soothing but also exciting hormones: endorphins and dopamine.

Clearly, you slip a pair of sneakers in the morning in your handbag to be able to enjoy the fresh air and walk home in the evening.

For the walk to be effective, it should last between 40 and 45 minutes.

“It must also be supported, we must not walk calmly with our nose in the wind.

When you feel your thigh muscles warming up, it means your pace is good,” adds Cécile Bertin, running expert and author of the guide

Le running au femmes .

(3).

If the trip from office to home is less than 40 minutes, be satisfied with a brisk walk of half an hour then continue at home with muscle strengthening.

"In front of your television or your iPad, you can follow fitness videos of 7 or 8 minutes, to feel the benefits on energy," says the runner.

Self massage to release energy

A few self-massages of "Do In", a cousin of shiatsu, can help release energy by stimulating acupressure points.

To practice as soon as you feel the need to boost yourself, here are some movements from Anne-Laure Corbi-Quaglietti, reflexology practitioner and facilitator of Do In workshops (4) to do together or alone.

“Before you start and between each movement, remember to rub your hands palm against palm until you feel the heat.

Apply warmed palms to eyes and allow eyeballs to relax for 30 seconds.

Then, form a V with the index and middle fingers of each hand without bending the other fingers and frame your ears in this V to rub vigorously back and forth.

Rub the lower face (below the nose) with your hand, open fingers and supple palm, until you feel the heat.

Do the same on the forehead, then massage the ears between the thumb and index finger until you feel warmth.

Massage the cervical area with the palms of the hands, first the right then the left.

Rub the scalp from the forehead to the cervical area with the tip of the fingers,

like a comb, or pat these same lines.

Relax the traps and shoulders by tapping them with the opposite hand.
