Hamburg – From 2023, the citizen’s income should serve as basic security for those who are able to work.
Not every consumer knows that they are entitled to social assistance.
Anyone who previously received Hartz IV will automatically receive the citizen's income.
But how do you apply for citizenship money?

It's that easy to fill out the application for citizen's allowance online
From January 1, 2023, the previous unemployment benefit II will become citizen benefit.
It is intended to provide basic security for employable job seekers.
If you received Hartz IV in 2022, you don't have to worry about anything: the unemployment benefit will continue to be paid out automatically under the new name.
Many consumers who have not yet received Hartz IV do not even know that they are entitled to it.
The application for citizen benefit is easy and can be filled out online.
Citizens’ income will replace Hartz IV in 2023 – it can be easily applied for online.

Various information must be provided on six pages in order to be able to apply for the citizen's allowance.
This includes the personal data of the applicant, the current living situation and the resulting costs.
Information on current income and assets must then be provided.
From when to when was you last employed?
The short-term usable assets for subsistence must not exceed 60,000 euros.
Once all of this information has been provided, the application for citizenship allowance can be submitted.
Citizens’ income is coming in 2023 – when will it be paid out?
In order to apply for the citizens' allowance online, a user account must be created with the Federal Employment Agency - registration also works online.
However, make sure that your ID has an online function.
Since the end of November 2022, consumers in Germany have had the opportunity to fill out the application for citizens' income online.
The main reasons for this were the time and location-independent application for the citizen's allowance as well as the saving of postage costs and time.
The first payment of citizen's income should even take place on December 30, 2022.
The standard rates of citizen income increase significantly compared to Hartz IV.
Single people who received 449 euros per month in December can look forward to 502 euros from January 2023.
The standard rates for children and young people have also been raised: children under the age of six even receive 73 euros more than in 2022. The application forms for the citizen’s allowance will apply from January 1, 2023 and will therefore only be available then.
