In Solomyan, in the southwest of the city, at least three women were taken to hospital.
A hotel and a house were hit by missiles, according to the deputy head of the Ukrainian president, Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
Ten explosions were reportedly heard in the first barrage of attacks.
Klitschko said other attacks hit Pechersk and Holosiivsk neighborhoods in the central and western part of the city.
Many areas preemptively cut off electricity before missiles hit the country after a lunchtime alert was raised.
