(ANSA) - TEHRAN, 01 JAN - Some former and current football players of a well-known Tehran team were arrested last night in Damavand, near the Iranian capital, for having participated in a New Year's party with men and women.
This was reported by the Iranian agency Tasnim.
"The arrested consumed alcoholic drinks", adds the agency.
Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, it has been forbidden in Iran to participate in mixed parties, with men and women, and to drink alcohol.
