New Year's Eve: 646 interventions by the Fire Brigade for the celebrations


Slight increase from last year's 558. The largest number in Emilia Romagna. 15 wounded in Naples and its province (ANSA)

Tonight there were 646 interventions by the firefighters for fires attributable to the New Year's celebrations, a slight increase compared to last year, when they were 558. Many interventions involved fires in dumpsters and some cars parked on the street.

The highest number occurred in Emilia Romagna, where they were 96. The other interventions were in Piedmont 50, Lombardy 47, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige 71, Friuli Venezia Giulia 16, Liguria 45, Tuscany 45, Marche 13, Umbria 5 , Lazio 52, Abruzzo 6, Molise 7, Campania 57, Basilicata 0, Calabria 4, Puglia 75, Sicily 31, Sardinia 26.

There are 15 people injured by barrels on New Year's Eve between Naples and the province: five of these are minors.

A figure, the one provided by the Naples Police Headquarters, which marks an increase compared to last year's budget when there were eight injured.

Most of the wounded, 12, are concentrated in the city of Naples: three of these are minors.

Among the most seriously injured, according to the first data provided by the carabinieri, there are those who have lost a finger from picking up a bang in the street and those looking out from the balcony (this he declared) have been hit in the face by a firecracker.

A little boy, on the other hand, was on board a car when the explosion of a big bang set off the airbag which hit him full in the face;

he was hospitalized for a major eye trauma. 

One of the first to arrive at old Pellegrini's emergency room was a man with a wound in his hand from the loss of the first phalanx.

In the same hospital, another man also asked for help who said that he was injured in the leg by the explosion of a firecracker thrown into the street by an unknown man while he was walking in via Partenope.
