A mother said she was left terrified when her baby son's nanny stopped answering her messages, so she returned home - only to find she had fallen asleep while her son destroyed the house.
Del Auger, 31, left her one-year-old son, Declan, at their home in Alberta, Canada, last month with a babysitter and left for work at 8am.
During the day she had a gut feeling that something was wrong, especially when she stopped getting updates about her son.
The concerned mother returned home just after 1:00pm to find her son wreaking havoc in the house while his babysitter slept on the couch.
She recorded on camera what was waiting for her at home.
"Declan threw every possible toy, as well as some of my bowls from the kitchen," Dell told Kennedy News, "They were in a drawer, so he obviously spent some time alone."
In the video shared by Del, her unprofessional babysitter can be seen sleeping on the sofa, her messy house and her baby who looks slyly at the camera and laughs at him, as if he realizes what damage he has done.
"He just thought it was the funniest thing ever. He just laughed," recalls Del, "He knows when he's doing something bad or wrong and he runs away and just laughs. He's playful, he's a little clown."

A babysitter reported to the police about neglect because the mother was late coming home to
the irresponsible charwoman, 33-year-old Megan, is very lucky that the concerned mother is her little sister - otherwise it is doubtful that she would have forgiven her.
"It could have ended badly," Dell said.
Her little sister Megan insisted to her that she only fell asleep for a few minutes and thought her nephew was dozing beside her.
"I wasn't going to fall asleep babysitting my nephew," she said.
Del may have forgiven her sister but she won't let her keep her baby again anytime soon.
"She lost all her babysitting rights," said the mother about her sister, "Maybe after a whole year I will trust her again with my baby, but for now he goes to day care."
If that's not enough, it turns out that the babysitter/nurse didn't help the mother clean up the mess either.
The mother said: "It took a few hours to sort out the mess. I was angry because I thought my sister should have sorted it out and not me. She just lay there insolently and continued to sleep."
Fortunately, baby Declan is out of danger and Del is now able to see the humorous side of it all.
"I can laugh about it now, but I wasn't laughing at that moment," she declared, "I was upset, but now it's actually a funny story."
