Chocolate and bananas, a combination that is a consensus (Photo: Liat Shirit)
I thought to myself that bananas are a consensus, because who doesn't like bananas?
And chocolate is definitely a consensus.
And chocolate with bananas, it's already a combination of consensuses.
In short, banana lovers.
Get yourself a banana (actually several), and make yourself a quick, tasty and satisfying cake.
Please note:
it is advisable and recommended to use a cast iron pan for our recipe with a diameter of about 25 cm. A heavy pan will spread the heat in an even and balanced way, but if you don't have one, look for the heaviest pan you have, with a heat-resistant handle. The pan will create a crust for a cake, as opposed to a regular pan. Even so, it is possible to make the cake in a regular pan with a diameter of 24/26 cm.
Beautiful in every way.

Preparation
How do you make a chocolate banana cake in a pan?
1 Heat the oven to 180 degrees.
2 Grease a cast iron pan with a little olive oil, and set aside.
3 In a large bowl, mix well all the dry ingredients - flour, sugar, baking soda and baking powder, cocoa powder and spices.
4 In a medium bowl, mix well all the wet ingredients - olive oil, eggs, mashed bananas, sour cream/yogurt and vanilla extract.
5 Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients bowl, and mix with a silicone spatula just until the batter thickens.
The batter comes out dense and heavy.
6 Add the chocolate chips and mix again just until the batter thickens.
7 Pour the batter into the greased pan and add banana halves for decoration.
8 Place in the hot oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the cake.
9 Let the cake cool for at least half an hour, before cutting it.
