(ANSA) - NEW YORK, 02 JAN - The recession will hit a third of the global economy.
This was stated by the director general of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, warning of a 2023 perhaps more difficult than the previous 12 months.
"We expect a third of the world economy to be in recession," Georgieva says, reiterating how the Fund predicts that half of the European Union will be in recession.
Georgieva's words, reports the Financial Times, would seem to indicate the possibility of a downward revision of growth for 2023.
