An urgent meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, in order to prepare an extraordinary plan for the snow-free Apennines.

This is requested by the Regions of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Abruzzo, grappling with a winter season marked by temperatures higher than the average for the period, thanks to the effects of climate change, with the absence of snow cover for skiing and also difficulties in making artificial snow because you don't go below zero degrees even at night.

In particular, in Emilia-Romagna, almost all the slopes have remained closed (in the Cimone area, in the Modena Apennines, today only the one at the children's school camp is open), with hoteliers, lift managers and ski instructors forced to deal with cancellations by tourists.

"The Regions cannot be left alone - say the president of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini and the councilor for Tourism Andrea Corsini - We need an extraordinary plan. Our operators in the white Apennines after the seasons canceled by Covid, are today grappling with another black moment that is canceling a large part of the winter takings with effects that risk being irreversible".

The request for a meeting with the minister was also agreed with the councilors Leonardo Marras (Tuscany) and Daniele Damario (Abruzzo).

The Regions involved focus on some levers: "The Government must first intervene with fresh resources to compensate, at least in part, for the damage caused by this climatic anomaly - they underline - then with measures to postpone mortgages and with aid for the replacement of the old snow-making systems with the latest generation ones that allow the artificial snow to be maintained even at higher temperatures".

The objective must be to "try to put the operators in a position to resist - they conclude - and not to be forced to abandon our mountains of which they are an important garrison".
