Earthquake: Legnini, 15,000 grant applications, 10,000 construction sites

"The reconstruction of central Italy today appears to have changed a lot compared to three years ago. (ANSA)


(ANSA) - USSITA, 03 JAN - "Today the reconstruction of Central Italy has changed a lot compared to three years ago. We have introduced important simplifications and regulatory innovations, including the Consolidated Law on private reconstruction": says the outgoing extraordinary commissioner for reconstruction post-earthquake, Giovanni Legnini.


   "In the last three years - he recalls - despite the numerous obstacles and emergencies, 15,000 applications for reconstruction assistance have been presented, over 10,000 private construction sites have been approved and financed, as well as public reconstruction, where we count hundreds of construction sites open and over a thousand close to opening is well underway".


   "Many other additional public interventions are planned - he adds -, and the Complementary Plan to the Pnrr for the earthquake areas, in an advanced stage of implementation, will favor the development of the affected territories, providing resources for businesses and tangible and intangible infrastructures, such as the integrated network of research of the universities of the crater, which will lead to the creation of four university poles of excellence in the four regions, which has been finalized in recent days", continues the commissioner.

Which also announces the publication, in the next few days, "of the results of my mandate and of the activities of the structure".

After thanking the various protagonists of the reconstruction, Legnini recalls that "there is still a lot of work to do and there are various difficulties to overcome,
