One show whose episodes can be watched in any order was Eric Garcia's (“Repo Men”) pitch, which the screenwriter wowed Netflix with.
Of course, such a proposal could only appear revolutionary to the streaming service that wants to supplant linear television.
Because in practice, most people watch their favorite series anyway, i.e. all over the place - just what is currently on.

The non-chronological approach of "Kaleidoscope" can therefore be questioned in its uniqueness.
Nevertheless, Netflix sells the format, which is produced by Ridley Scott ("Alien", "Blade Runner"), among others, as a "unique viewing experience" - especially since the streamer sets the randomization of the eight editions itself.
