Within ten days, the crime thriller »Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery«, starring former James Bond actor Daniel Craig, has already been viewed in 90 million households on Netflix.

An additional 127 million streamed hours were counted between December 25 and January 1, Netflix said Tuesday night, making it - by a wide margin - the number one spot for Christmas week movies and a total of 209.4 million hours since its release on December 23. make out December.

This number divided by 2.3 hours of running time gives the 90 million households/views.

Compared to other films in its first ten days, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is "the third most viewed film (after "Red Notice" starring Dwayne Johnson and the doomsday grotesque "Don't Look Up"), according to Netflix.

In the star-studded film »Glass Onion« by Rian Johnson, 49, 54-year-old Craig plays the odd detective Benoit Blanc for the second time.

Like its predecessor »Knives Out - Mord ist Familiensache« from 2019, which was also streamed a lot between Christmas and New Year, »Glass Onion« is a crime thriller in the style of old Agatha Christie films - based on the classic whodunit concept, i.e. the gradual one "Who did it?" resolution.

With a surprising twist.

Rian Johnson had been critical of Netflix's marketing strategy.

He would have preferred »Glass Onion« to be promoted as a standalone film, while the subtitle with a reference to »Knives Out« emphasizes the character of the series.

Also starring Craig are Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick and Edward Norton, as well as mini roles by Ethan Hawke and Hugh Grant.

Record message about »Wednesday«

Another jubilant message from Netflix concerns »Wednesday«: The series about the boarder from the Addams family was viewed 103.96 million hours between Christmas and New Year, according to the service.

The mystery comedy series by Tim Burton, 64, has now collected more than 100 million streamed hours in six consecutive weeks, which has not been the case before, as Netflix announced.

The eight-part series is still number one in the series.
