His conspicuous shoe soles betrayed a serial burglar in Bavaria.
The 49-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison by the Augsburg district court.
He was convicted by a conspicuous shoe print with a wave pattern, which was found at several crime scenes.
The series of break-ins was therefore described as the "wave profile series".
Between 2019 and 2022, the prosecution listed more than 30 thefts in Augsburg and two neighboring counties that the man is said to have committed.
He went into shops, clubhouses and garden houses at night and looked for valuables there.
Booty worth around 24,000 euros was stolen, but the property damage caused by the break-ins was significantly higher.
As a court spokesman reported, the verdict became final immediately.
The defendant, who was previously in custody, remains in custody.
