Marvel star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is being tipped to be the next James Bond.
The Brit could become the next 007 following Daniel Craig's departure from the line-up.
Who will get it next, the coveted license to become a movie star?
Since Daniel Craig finally said goodbye to his iconic James Bond role after 15 years with "No Time to Die" in 2021, the rumor mill has been bubbling violently.
(Read here: That's how the last James Bond was with Daniel Craig, "No Time to Die".)
Will the next secret agent 007 have black or white skin, will he be old or young - or even a woman?
Now another boiling point seems to have been reached.
As "Moviepilot" reports, Marvel star Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("The Return of the First Avenger") is currently the most likely Bond successor.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson ticks all the boxes for a James Bond actor
A month ago, the British tabloid The Sun, citing sources, reported that Taylor-Johnson had completed a secret audition at Pinewood Studios.
The Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson were very impressed with him.
"Now he's one of the new frontrunners," it said.
So one of the favorites for the prestigious role of British MI6 agent.
The extremely well-informed Hollywood journalist Matthew Belloni confirmed this message.
The rumors surrounding Taylor-Johnson are true, he actually met with Broccoli and the talks went well.
Those responsible for James Bond are taking their time with the decision
Conversely, this means that there are other James Bond candidates on the shortlist.
They all have to meet certain requirements.
Perhaps the most important: a Bond actor has to be British.
Taylor Johnson was born in England.
In addition, a 007 candidate must not be too old, because he is supposed to continue telling the story over several films;
and also not too well known, so that the James Bond brand does not fade into the background.
After Daniel Craig's resignation, those responsible for James Bond announced that they would take as much time as necessary to look for a successor.
The seething in the rumor mill, it continues...
