(ANSA) - TARANTO, 04 JAN - From the first investigations carried out so far on the rescue activity carried out by the GeoBarents vessel, no violations of the 'NGO decree' have emerged, even if further investigations are underway.
Taranto was learned from investigative sources.
In particular, investigations are underway on the commander of the ship that arrived this morning in the port of Taranto and from which the 85 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean in recent days disembarked.
The investigations are carried out by the pg section of the Coast Guard and the Taranto Police Headquarters.
The hypothesis, at the moment remote of a sanction, would be the responsibility of the prefect.
The first assessment by the investigators is that when the 'NGO decree' came into force, the migrants rescued in the Mediterranean by the Geo Barents were already on the ship,
Investigations are underway on the matter, but the assessment at the moment is that the commander of the Geo Barents has not violated the decree on NGOs and that the ship should not be subjected to administrative sanctions.
