Boris Becker's sons, Noah and Elias Becker, spoke in an interview about their father's time in prison.

"We deal with it openly when problems arise and have communicated a lot via FaceTime," said Elias, 23, of the celebrity magazine "Bunte".

With a view to the release of the former tennis star, he said: "Of course we are all relieved."

His older brother Noah, 28, said: »Family is the most important thing and we stick together even in times of crisis.

That goes without saying for us.«

Becker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by a London court in April last year because he had not properly declared parts of his assets in bankruptcy proceedings.

He was released in mid-December after 231 days behind bars.

In a Sat.1 interview, the native of Leimen said that his family gave him support during his prison sentence in Great Britain.

"My relationship with my four children was always very open, very direct, very loving," said Becker.

You would have known his strengths and weaknesses.

»There was no fear of contact.«

Comeback as a TV expert from mid-January

Becker will be regularly seen on TV again from mid-January.

At the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open (January 16 to 29), he will work as an expert at Eurosport - just like before his imprisonment.

The former tennis star will accompany top games as a co-commentator and analyze the games in the "Matchball Becker" show.

The broadcaster said so.

However, there will be no rapid comeback on British television for the time being.

According to reports from "Sport Bild", Becker is not planned as a BBC expert for the tournament in Wimbledon.

The BBC has no interest in Becker joining video as an expert on the Wimbledon broadcasts in July.

After his deportation from prison, the 55-year-old is no longer allowed to enter England.

London said he would be barred from entering the UK until his sentence expired.

This is the case at the end of October 2024.
