US actor Jeremy Renner has released his first statement since being hit by a snowplow: Authorities have revealed that the vehicle, weighing 6,500kg, 'run over' the Avengers star after it flipped over.

Renner, who remains in critical condition and is being held in intensive care, shared a photo of him in a hospital bed on his Instagram profile.
“Thank you all for your kind words,” he read the caption.
"I'm too messed up right now to write. But I send love to you all."
The 51-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he was seriously injured while plowing snow from his car at his home near Reno, Nevada.
A witness told TMZ that one of Renner's neighbors, a doctor, placed a tourniquet on his leg which was bleeding heavily until paramedics arrived.
