For the 16th day of Serie A football,
Inter-Napoli 1-0
and
Udinese-Empoli 1-1
EVE
"Do I still believe in the Scudetto comeback? Absolutely, there are 23 games left to go, there are many points up for grabs. Inter, like the others they are chasing, all have the desire to shorten the ground against an opponent who is the best of Europe".
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said so in a press conference on the eve of the match against Napoli.
"Up until now, we have to congratulate Napoli, but all the teams that are late today have the desire and hope to close the gap. We know that the gap is important and we will have to do something extraordinary. Tomorrow is a very important match for our continuation in the league".
The match against Inter "is a challenge not only for the team but for the city of Naples. You grow up if you face big matches well and we have to be stronger than everything, thinking that we play for the pride of the city. The players already show that they are within the great challenge".
The Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti said on the eve of the return to the field at San Siro after the World Cup break.
"We used this break period - he explained - to work in depth on the necessary qualities and individually evaluate the player who was returning from the World Cup and who was on vacation to work well. We got very good answers, with our heads we stayed where we left off , a beautiful journey that began 5 months ago, actually a year and a half ago, since I've been here. A beautiful journey that has no stops and stations, we only stop when we know how it will end. From these World Cups we know we can think to the enthusiasm we have seen in the Argentine people, they give us pure energy to use on the pitch. My obsession is to see Naples go crazy with joy,
see her crazier than she already is.
I learned to be Neapolitan and this fact of seeing the city explode with joy is what would make me happier".
