The last new episode of Sherlock aired in 2017.
Since then, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have had no time for the popular crime format.
Showrunner and head writer Steven Moffat would hit the keys again in a heartbeat if that were to change.
A second season of Inside Man, in Germany on Netflix, could also come.
Steven Moffat is certainly one of the best-known British TV writers and one of the writers behind "Sherlock" or last year's hit series "Inside Man" starring David Tennant (how to know the cast here) which was shown outside the UK on Netflix.
There are small updates for both series via deadline.
At BBC Today he actually beat the drum for his stage play "The Unfriend".
But to "Inside Man" he says: "We just started talking about it".
This means a second season of the series.
Regarding a possible return of "Sherlock", he said: "I would start writing tomorrow" if Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman agreed to return.
The fourth season ended with Sherlock confronting his evil sister in the episode "The Final Problem".
But both stars are very involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other film and series projects outside of it, so they currently have little time for it.
