(ANSA) - MOGADISHUS, 04 JAN - Nine people were killed in a double attack in central Somalia, security sources and witnesses said.
The Somali authorities, who attribute the attack to the radical Islamists Shebab, said they were unable to stop the attack on the town of Mahas.
The double attack took place in the province of Hiran, where a vast offensive against the Islamist insurgents led by clan militias and the Somali army began a few months ago.
