Sales kicking off throughout Italy, redemption of online stores

End-of-season sales, the first major commercial appointment of the year, are starting today throughout Italy.


    Despite growing competition from the web, sales remain an event strongly linked to the in-store shopping experience.

89% of consumers who will participate in the sales will buy one or more products at a physical point of sale, while 59% will go online.

The shops are preferred above all by over35s (90%) and in the Center (92%).


    This is what emerges from the survey conducted for Fismo, the federation of Confesercenti's specialized fashion stores, by Ipsos on a sample of 800 consumers.

The survey shows strong interest from consumers: 72% declare themselves interested in buying at least one item on sale, for an average budget of around 160 euros per person.

And there's a further 23% who will decide based on the offers.
