You might be surprised to hear but this tempting sandwich is definitely an existing dish in more than 1,200 McDonald's branches in France, according to the NBC network.
What started as a limited edition promotional item in 2012 has since become a beloved dish that returns to the McDonald's France menu every year for a limited time.
In fact, the double sandwich is so beloved by the locals that the writers of "Emily in Paris" decided to make it a major plot point in the third season.

So what is the McDonald's Mcbagget?
While most people would choose the fast food chain's Big Mac or apple pie as their favorite menu item, the McBaguet has become a modern French classic.
The sandwich consists of two hamburger patties or two portions of chicken, Swiss cheese, lettuce and French mustard seeds on a crusty baguette from local suppliers.
It's actually a case where fast food meets gourmet cuisine - and TikTok has already tried to produce a home version of it.

How do you make the mcbagget at home?
While some Emily in Paris fans are lucky enough to have the McBaguette at their local McDonald's, most of us can only admire the sandwiches from afar.
If you're an ocean away from the Eiffel Tower, you can make the famous sandwich from your favorite series yourself by cooking two hamburger patties of your choice in a pan and top them with sliced Swiss cheese (for those keeping kosher - you can certainly omit the cheese).
While the cheese is melting, prepare the sauce: 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon sunflower oil, 1 tablespoon sweet cream, 1 egg yolk, a little squeezed lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste.
Some of the recipes for the sauce also include sautéed and diced onions.
After spreading a generous layer of the mustard spread (courtesy of la_faim on TikTok) on both sides of your sliced baguette, add the hamburger (cheeseburger) patties and lettuce, close the sandwich and there it is ready to bite!
